Happy Halloween!

Patsy & Edina Making Trouble on Halloween

Happy Halloween, Everybody! Whatever your plans are, I hope they involve booze, candy, and–most of all–safety. Before I sign off for the night to head to my couch in a cloud of walking pneumonia drugs (which I can’t, unfortunately, mix with booze) and wait for the kids to start knocking at the door (but let’s face it, I’ll probably lock my gate and turn off my lights after the third one arrives because I’ll get annoyed at having to leave the comfort of my couch and blankie. Plus, once you’ve seen one Storm Trooper and Princess, you’ve seen them all. My 11-year-old neighbor is dressed as a Roller Derby Girl, complete with old-school roller skates (NO Roller Girl jokes–she’s 11!), so I have to give her props for that), I wanted to leave you with a photo from Halloween 1995, during which my friend Christen (who inspired me to start blogging) and I dressed up as Patsy and Edina from Absolutely Fabulous. Talk about school inappropriate: we were walking around the Halloween Dance with empty (at least they were empty) bottles of champagne, with which our ENGLIGH TEACHER supplied us. We actually went DIGGING through SEVERAL bottles in her recyclying bin to come up with just the right ones. Plus, I was wearing an up-to-there vinyl skirt that I bought at a sex shop (did I mention we were underaged at the time?) and Christen was wearing a hoochie-mama halter top. Oh, yeah, and we went to Catholic school. Anyway, enjoy the photo; my mom still agrees that these were the best costumes of all time.
